You have already chosen your country to research. Using what you learned about your country, I would like for you to create a ‘make believe’ 6th grader living in the country you have researched. Using the web organizer provided, give your person a name and include their city, class, type of house, type of neighborhood, school, family, friends, and current events that may affect them. The point of this project is to imagine with life is like for someone your age in your SPECIFIC country. Be sure to use as many details about your country and your country's culture when creating your entry. For example, if most of the people in your country are Jewish and celebrate Hannakuh, it may be a good idea to have your time be around the time of Hannakuh. If your country is a dry, desert country, be sure to fit that into your diary entries. If you have questions, please ask me. I am happy to help. :)
Using the information you put in the web organizer, contruct 5, one page diary entries for your imaginary person.
Since this project will be presented to the class, you must find a way in which to present it. A few examples are: putting your entries on a poster, presenting your entries like a book, or making your own website (or 'blog') using your entries. You will be given points for creatively presenting your project. Have fun with this project- be creative as you try to imagine what life must be like for a 6th grader living in your chosen country.
